Velvet & Voltage: Maximalist Kitchen Rebellion
A Moody, Glam Kitchen Transformation with Edge + Heart
This kitchen overhaul was all about breaking out of the bland and dialing up drama, style, and raw personality. My clients wanted more than an upgraded kitchen—they wanted a space that screamed “one of a kind,” showcasing their love for bold texture, unforgettable color, and rockstar details. The challenge? Transform a neutral, cookie-cutter space into a wild, layered, and highly functional kitchen that reflects their edgy vibe and creative soul. From layout to finish, every move was about solving pain points: awkward flow, lifeless color, and wasted potential. Enter eclectic maximalism, rich textiles, and statement-making decor to totally flip the narrative of this home.

This project proves maximalist kitchen design is more than a trend it’s an attitude shift. In 2025, white-on-white minimalism is out and kitchens are getting bolder, more layered, and unapologetically personal. By weaving together a palette of dramatic black cabinetry, deep plum walls, and statement finishes, we leaned all the way in on this year’s demand for custom, livable spaces that still pack a visual punch.

furniture + products
By integrating jet-black cabinetry, showstopping brass fixtures, layered mementos, and a gloriously bold marble island countertop, we energized the entire first floor. Deep violet walls, rich textiles, and custom art added dimension and drama. We faced constraints with natural light, so I used layered lighting (including those massive art deco chandeliers) to give it extra glow and shadow play.

before shots
Before the redesign, this kitchen was a blank canvas—neutral, minimal, and begging for personality. The space had solid bones but lacked the drama, color, and style that make a home truly unique. With builder-basic finishes and a layout that didn’t support entertaining or daily living, the kitchen was functional but completely forgettable. These “before” images capture the starting point—a classic case of potential just waiting for a bold, creative interior design approach to turn it into something extraordinary.
Problems Solved: Where Design Gets Real
Every transformation starts with listening. Understanding how my clients live—their routines, quirks, and what truly matters to them—is the foundation of great design. When a space reflects their lifestyle and solves real, everyday frustrations, it becomes more than just beautiful—it becomes a home that works effortlessly for years to come. My goal is to create designs that don’t just look stunning on reveal day, but keep feeling right, functional, and inspiring long after the photos are taken.

Vanilla to Voltage
We ditched the white minimalism and brought in a fearless color, dynamic patterns, and high-drama finishes. Goodbye bland, hello bold this kitchen now vibes with adult personality, eclectic flair, and an energy that’s perfect for lively dinners or laid-back cocktails.

Flow, Not Fumble
The old layout made movement awkward + forced. We reimagined the floor plan for smooth traffic, clear zones, and social gathering all anchored by a sculptural island that’s both functional showpiece and party central. It's now perfect for entertaining guests.

Style Meets Stuff
No more clutter or wasted corners. Custom storage, curated surfaces, and display zones put the spotlight on the client’s art, travel finds, and signature style making the kitchen organized + a true reflection of their story. The result: everything needed.

swipe left + right

From day one, the design focus was on creating a kitchen meant for gathering, showing off, and daily living—not just another cookie-cutter flip. We embraced eclectic maximalism to highlight not only texture and color, but also each client’s collected treasures, art, and personality. Multipurpose features—like the oversized, sculptural island and luxe vintage lighting—addressed both form and function, hitting the sweet spot where style meets wellness and efficiency.
