The ORC (One Room Challenge) is taking over my house this fall, and I couldn’t be more excited — especially because I’ve decided to go big with a bold, gutsy bathroom makeover! This project has been such a fun journey so far, and I love how it’s pushing me to try new things and get creative.
First up, I experimented with peel-and-stick tile for the floor from D.marie interiors. It’s something I’ve never done before, so I was a little nervous, but I figured, why not? It turned out to be such a fun and rewarding project — and the best part? It looks amazing and really elevates the space. It’s a great way to add style without the hassle of traditional tiling, and I’m so happy I went for it.
For the upper shower and backsplash, I used peel-and-stick tile again, which was another first for me. It’s so nice to have a DIY option that’s flexible, budget-friendly, and looks fantastic. I love how it adds a modern touch and ties everything together. Plus, it’s a great way to experiment without the mess and commitment of traditional tile installations.
For the walls, I chose wallpaper from Spoonflower — the Peacock and Poppies design from the Perfect Victorian Glamour collection. It’s just so pretty and perfectly captures that elegant, heritage English vibe I was going for. Even if it’s not the most durable, I had to try it because it’s simply stunning!
Next, I turned my attention to the ceiling — and I wanted it to be really special. I decided to go all out with gold leaf on the ceiling, and I have to admit, it’s pretty kick-ass. My neck might be a little sore, but the stunning detail was totally worth it. This kind of project really makes a space feel luxurious and personalized.
I’m also thrilled to be partnering with ORC and some amazing brands for this makeover. They’ve generously gifted me a gorgeous mirror and a vanity light from Kichler Lighting — their products are just beautiful, and their customer service has been fantastic. I’ve been eyeing the Hansford 3-Light Clear Glass Bath Light, and I think it’ll add that perfect finishing touch.
And wait until you see the toilet I’ve got coming — I’ve never been this excited about a toilet before! It’s the Glenwynn Skirted One Piece Left Hand Flush Toilet. It’s sleek, modern, and so easy to keep clean, plus it looks incredibly elegant. I can’t wait to install it and see how it transforms the space.
This bathroom is shaping up to be a true labor of love, and I’m so grateful for the chance to reimagine it with new products, bold design choices, and a whole lot of fun in the process. Stay tuned for more updates — I have a feeling this will be one of my favorite projects yet!
